The froth flotation process is commonly employed for the selective separation of a mineral species from a liquid–solid suspension of both valuable and unwanted gangue mineral particles The valuable mineral species which needs to be separated is rendered hydrophobic by controlling its surface chemistry to provide the potential conditions for the attachment of the particles to air bubbles
